How Listek's nutrition insights work
Listek is a grocery list app that adds nutrition context to the list you are about to buy. This page explains what that context is, how it is produced and where its limits are.

Insights happen before you shop, not after you eat
Most nutrition apps ask you to log meals after the decision has already been made. Listek works the other way round: it looks at the grocery list you are about to buy, while you can still change it.
That means Listek is a shopping list app first. Nutrition context is added around the list, so you never have to weigh food, count calories or keep a food diary.
What Nutri-Score represents
Nutri-Score is a widely used front-of-pack nutrition label that summarises the nutritional composition of a food product on a simple A to E scale. A is used for products with a more favourable composition and E for the least favourable.
Nutri-Score is a general indicator, not a verdict about a whole diet. A product with a lower score is not forbidden, and a product with a higher score is not automatically the right choice for you.
Listek can look at the list as a whole
Instead of judging one product at a time, Listek can review the products on the list together and give you a short AI-generated recap of what the shop looks like overall.
Nutri-Score is designed as a product-level nutrition label. Listek uses available product nutrition information to provide additional context about the shopping list as a whole. The list-level overview is a Listek feature and should not be confused with the official Nutri-Score label applied to individual food products.
The recap is designed to be readable in a few seconds: what stands out, where the list looks balanced and where there may be room for a small change.
How healthier swap suggestions work
When the list contains items where an alternative may be worth considering, Listek can suggest a practical swap in the same product category.
Suggestions are meant as ideas, not instructions. You decide what goes in the basket, and the swap is only shown as additional context.
How dietary goals change the context
If you select a goal such as weight management, increased protein, reduced sugar, lower-carb eating or reduced saturated and trans fats, Listek uses it as context when it looks at the list.
The goal does not unlock a diet plan or a medical programme. It simply changes which signals are emphasised in the list-level guidance you see.
How allergy and sensitivity warnings work
You can enable filters such as lactose, nut, soy, high-histamine or FODMAP. Listek can then flag products on the list that may require extra attention and explain why the item was flagged.
These warnings are based on general product knowledge, not on scanning the exact packaging of the specific product you buy. Recipes, brands and manufacturing processes change, and cross-contamination cannot be detected by an app.
Limitations you should know about
AI-generated summaries, scores, swaps and warnings may be incomplete or inaccurate. Listek does not guarantee that every product is classified correctly.
Listek provides general informational guidance and is not a medical or diagnostic tool. It does not diagnose conditions, does not replace advice from a doctor or dietitian and makes no promises about health outcomes.
Always read product labels carefully, especially when managing allergies, intolerances or medical dietary requirements.
